Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ACT.STAGE (“we,” “us,” “our”) acting course platform and related services (the “Service”). By enrolling in a course or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility & Account Responsibility
You represent that you are at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent/legal guardian to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Enrollment & Payment
Enrollment grants access to course materials according to the selected format (Online, Live, or Hybrid). Prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated at checkout. Taxes may apply based on your location and applicable law. Payment must be completed before access is granted.
Access, Scheduling & Live Sessions
Live session dates, times, instructors, and formats may change for operational reasons. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of material changes. If you miss a live session, access to replays or make-up options depends on the specific course offering and may be limited.
Digital Content & License
Course videos, scripts, exercises, workbooks, and other materials are licensed to you for personal educational use only. You do not acquire ownership of any intellectual property by purchasing or accessing the Service.
Refunds
Refund requests are considered within 14 days of purchase if less than 20% of the course has been consumed. “Consumed” may include video watch time, downloads, assignment submissions, attendance at live classes, or access to premium resources where measurable. If approved, refunds are issued to the original payment method, where possible.
Non-Refundable Items
Certain items may be non-refundable where clearly labeled at purchase (e.g., one-time live workshops with limited seats, 1:1 coaching sessions already delivered, or discounted bundles with immediate full access). If a portion of a bundle is consumed, any refund may be prorated.
Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting us to resolve a billing issue, we may suspend or terminate access to the Service pending resolution. We reserve the right to provide relevant enrollment and usage data to your payment provider.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service in a manner that is respectful, lawful, and consistent with a learning environment. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe your conduct violates these Terms or threatens the safety, integrity, or experience of others.
- Be respectful in live sessions, comments, peer reviews, and any community spaces.
- Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, or dox other users, instructors, or staff.
- No unauthorized redistribution, resale, public performance, or sharing of course materials or login credentials.
- Do not record live sessions or coaching calls without explicit written permission from all participants and ACT.STAGE.
- Do not upload or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that infringes intellectual property rights.
- Do not attempt to bypass access controls, scrape the platform, probe security, or introduce malware.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations in your country, state, or region.
User Submissions & Community Content
If you submit recordings, written work, comments, or other content (“Submissions”), you retain ownership of your Submissions. You grant ACT.STAGE a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your Submissions solely for operating the Service (e.g., providing feedback, enabling peer review, or displaying your work to the appropriate class cohort). You can request deletion where feasible, subject to legal and operational constraints.
Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our privacy practices. Some live classes may include interactive participation. If you enable your camera/microphone, you are responsible for what you share. Do not share sensitive personal data in public or group settings.
Disclaimers (Education & Results)
Acting training is subjective and outcomes vary. We do not guarantee auditions, representation, bookings, income, career advancement, or specific performance results. The Service is provided for educational purposes and does not constitute professional, medical, psychological, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own decisions and participation.
Technology Requirements
Accessing the Service may require compatible devices, browsers, bandwidth, and third-party tools (e.g., video conferencing). We are not responsible for interruptions caused by your equipment, network, or third-party providers.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially violate these Terms, misuse content, or engage in conduct that harms the learning environment. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections intended to survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute terms) will continue to apply.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ACT.STAGE is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to ACT.STAGE for the specific course giving rise to the claim during the 3 months immediately preceding the event.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes become effective when posted on this page, unless a later effective date is stated. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
